Equipment Work in Abu Dhabi's City Centre
The older districts of Abu Dhabi island, from Al Danah and Al Markaziyah to Al Khalidiya and Tourist Club, are dense blocks of 1980s to 2000s towers. Most equipment work here is refurbishment: replacing rooftop chillers and generators, renewing signage, repairing facades, and fitting out offices and shops in buildings that stay occupied.
Space is the constraint. A crane lift on a city-centre street usually needs the crane set up on the road itself, so it needs municipality approval for road occupancy, a traffic management plan, and often a night-time slot.
